The RainbOw Community Kampuchea (RoCK), as an LGBT advocacy group, faces all the obstacles faced by LGBT people, already outlined as well as challenges faced by voluntary activist groups- not enough time, not enough activists and not enough funds to do all of what we wish to do! Due to the social and political context, RoCK chooses to keep a low profile, existing unofficially. RoCK also remains careful about the kinds of publicity it seeks in its work as well as the choice of awareness-raising activities. RoCK’s dedicated Cambodian LGBT activists remain the guiding light in negotiating obstacles, as they arise, in the artful balancing act of sufficient challenge and sufficient attention to risks.
